After centuries of isolation, humanity's new home is now sufficiently stable for it to turn its gaze outward. It already knows that there are other shores, other territories still affected by the Tumult, but capable of sustaining life. Now, at the twilight of his reign, Basileus Avkan ruun-Heshkari has dedicated his entire existence to preparing humanity to venture beyond the limits of Asgartha, with the aim of further repelling the Tumult, but above all, of rediscovering reality. All his efforts have led to the creation of the Expeditionary Corps, a force composed of several thousand individuals who have trained tirelessly to survive outside the stabilized zones.
Each Faction has called upon its Exalts to participate in the Rediscovery Endeavor, for only they have the ability to endure long in places affected by the Tumult. As they progress through the Terra Incognita, the Basileus hopes that these Exalts will find other Oases and be able to stabilize the path. For the work of this vanguard will be just the beginning. The Exalts are scouts, pioneers. In their wake, a multitude of women and men have volunteered to leave Asgartha. Where the Exalts pass, they will have the heavy task of stabilizing the roads and reinforcing the Oases they encounter during their pilgrimage.
Thus, milestone after milestone, they will extend Asgartha's influence, ensuring that the Terra Incognita gives way to the Known World. It will be up to the Expeditionary Corps to secure the Oases, to actively prospect to bring back wealth to Asgartha, to help survivor communities if other human beings have managed to survive, there, far into the Tumult. It will be up to them to study the new lifeforms they discover, to analyze all the strange phenomena that punctuate their journey, to map the world, to establish new enclaves resistant to the Tumult... The weight on their shoulders is already heavy, even before the starting signal.
The Expeditionary Corps has been placed under the impartial authority of Admiral Temera Singh. Although she belongs to no Faction, she has gained prestige in the face of several Leviathan incursions and has earned the respect of her troops through her composure, sagacity, and sense of honor. Her task will obviously not be easy: she will have to watch over contingents of thousands of men and women, without the direct support of Asgartha. She will be responsible for their survival and for the success of the Rediscovery Endeavor in its entirety.
Fortunately, she will be able to rely on many talented officers to assist her. Over the years, numerous veterans and fervent recruits have committed to participating in the adventure. But there is no doubt that the Tumult will test their enthusiasm, pushing them to their limits. It will be up to her to preserve their cohesion, no matter the adversity, obstacles, and twists of fate... Her main concern, however, remains the intrinsic rivalry between the Factions. They have all, of course, sworn to respect the Covenant, but who knows how they will react when faced with tough choices, in a life or death situation...
