Tell us your story with "Altered". How did you discover the game and why did it appeal to you?

I first discovered Altered through a random ad and was immediately impressed by the project's professionalism. The more I explored, the more excited I became. Every aspect of the game felt refined, nothing was overly complicated, and the differences from other TCGs seemed designed to enhance gameplay. Altered offers intriguing new challenges for card game veterans with its one-card turns, reserve mechanic, and unique cards. I'm thrilled for the fresh experience and the challenge of outsmarting the competition.

What have you done in the community?

Currently, I've been focusing on growing my Altered YouTube channel and have become one of Altered's main content creators in the US. I post weekly videos on theory, strategy, and gameplay to help my viewers prepare for organized play. Exploring this new game is so much fun, and I hope that shines through in my videos. I also have experience casting card game tournaments and aspire to become an Altered commentator.

I've competed in tournaments hosted by the Exalts team too, achieving Top 8 finishes for the last three seasons, twice as the first seed, and winning one season. I’m proud to say that I've won at least one game with each of the eighteen heroes during those competitions. I'm an active member of the Exalts and Covenant teams and participate in various Discord servers. You'll often catch me theorizing about new card reveals or discussing card rulings.

What's your favorite card and faction? Why?

I've deliberately avoided choosing a faction allegiance to remain unbiased in my testing and preparation; but who knows, maybe one day a faction will choose me. Despite this hesitation, I'd be lying if I didn't admit that I enjoy playing Muna now and then and that I find it super fulfilling to stick a big Sneezer Shroom. Anchored is a powerful keyword, and I like the strategy of slowly accumulating advantage over several days until it's time to strike and take both expeditions. Lyra is a close second because I really enjoy the Auraq & Kibble deck. Despite my love-hate relationship with dice and chance, I never fail to laugh when I am once again outsmarted by Ouroborus Trickster.

What are you looking forward to in the future of the game?

It will be super satisfying to successfully hunt down three unique cards that fit perfectly into a deck. I'm sure I'll spend a lot of time searching for, theorizing about, and collecting those powerful cards. If I'm lucky, maybe I'll crack a golden booster to accelerate that process. I love deckbuilding and am excited to have such a large card pool and so many heroes to mess with. Hopefully, I don't get too distracted by Lyra Festival to enjoy the rest of the cards!

Equinox has done a tremendous job of working closely with the Altered community, and I'm excited for the many fun opportunities they will inevitably provide us to further enjoy this great game. I've made a ton of valuable friendships and can't wait to get acquainted with more members of our incredible community. Maybe we'll even stare each other down across the table one day.
