Tell us your story with "Altered." How did you discover the game and why did it appeal to you?

The first time I heard about Altered, it was still in the project phase during a private event.

At Flip 2023, I suspected there might be a booth for 'Régis's game' somewhere (I didn't even know the name) and actively searched for it throughout the festival.

We eventually found it in the REEL association area, and I got to play my first games. It was love at first sight! The design and the flavor of the six factions were the first elements we discovered, and we were already very enthusiastic. The game design ultimately won us over, even though what we tested back then was quite different from what the game is today. The core gameplay was the same and already very polished. We got to test some starter decks as well as some more advanced ones. The deal was sealed; Altered entered our hearts.

What have you done in the community?

Well, mainly I am part of the Exalts, the team founded by Aran who contacted me when he was starting the project. I mainly expressed the desire to create a podcast (which we are still waiting for) and we took advantage of the competition organized by Aran and LaoShiMahan to start bringing online video content to life. So, I try to animate this content, whether it's through casting competitions, gameplay, or discussions about the factions, either on the Exalts channel or more recently on my personal channel.

What is your favorite card and faction? Why?

I don't think I have a favorite faction per se. I have affection for each of them. It happens that I've had the opportunity to play Bravos and more recently Axiom a bit more. So, I have a special relationship with these two factions, you could say. I have a strong preference for Treyst, especially in Axiom, whose design I love. On the Bravos side, I particularly appreciate the arts! And I really like the philosophies of these two factions as well. The desire to surpass oneself on one side and the sharing of knowledge on the other are values that I find very positive. But when it comes to choosing a faction for the adventure pass, the choice will be heart-wrenching. (thanks a lot, Equinox!)

What are you looking forward to in the future of the game?

For the game itself, I am mainly looking forward to discovering the new mechanics that will go with the core game design, which I find incredible. I trust the game design team to delight us in the future!

But what I am most looking forward to is what will happen around the game itself. Discovering how the community will establish itself, what will be the uses of the new tools that will be at our disposal. This novelty, this discovery, is what stimulates me the most when we talk about the game as a global project. And I imagine this is only the beginning! What ideas will emerge with this mix of real game and virtual tools? I am really excited to find out!
