Meet the Community #16 : JoliRougeGorge

Let me try to recall this; I think it was late December 2023. I was looking for a TCG to dive into and stumbled upon some promotional videos of Altered (I can't remember which channel). Many things intrigued me, so I delved deeper on YouTube and social media. Then, I attended a roadshow near me with two friends. I absorbed all this and got hooked. Initially, it was mostly for the beautiful artworks and the touch of inclusivity and representation. Gradually, I got into the physical gameplay and then online, and it was love. Seeing such beautiful cards coming together to advance expeditions is so enjoyable with refreshing mechanics.

It took me a while to start helping the community. Initially, with Fortunus and Maxime, we organized the French-speaking Discord tournament "Beyond the Borders of Asgartha" with little stories at each stage that I wrote (sorry Yoshi, I know they're not necessarily canon with the story or the world, but it was early days, we didn't have all the public lore yet).

Later, I joined Team Exalts because I wanted to get involved in the game. I commented on a few matches on the Exalts' Twitch channel, helped manage the league. I also participated in the Exalts League, finishing 2nd in season 1 and 2nd in season 2 (call me Poulidor...), but my goal was to show that some underrepresented heroes like Auraq and Fen were playable! More recently, I created the French wiki that references all the game's lore entries, allowing us to connect the dots.

On this occasion, I also translated some social media posts that were only in English to have little stories about certain cards or characters. Now, the French, English, and Italian wikis are connected. Feel free to check it out; I try to keep it as up-to-date as possible! I also joined another group, the Covenant, which is a small affinity group where we play remotely with our webcams, discuss revealed cards, and try things and improve together at the game.

Later, we plan to travel together to tournaments and events (by the way, some of us are going to FLIP in France, come along)

Wow, this question is so hard! It wasn't the case at first, but my favorite faction is now Lyra. The artworks are beautiful, and the gameplay is really intense and exhilarating! Auraq's presence in this faction is so refreshing in terms of graphic design and gameplay, I love everything about it! (You see, it rhymes) I still appreciate all the factions, some slightly less - wink wink - but all the characters are enticing! For my favorite card, I would say the Ouroboros Croupier. It combines many things I love: the posture and art are magnificent with real charisma, and on the field, it's a multitude of pleasures: good stats, a bit of dice rolling, a pinch of resource generation, and in rare, the sweetness of cost reduction. If that's not a delicious cocktail, I don't know what is!

I've become very invested in the game and the community. I hope to meet people everywhere to exchange and have fun together, participate in tournaments, see all the cards in this set (and the following ones!!). I hope to continue organizing things and creating life and excitement around the game in my own way and at my own level. And finally, I hope to attend the first Confluence, first to see you all, and secondly to try my luck at the high levels of competitive Altered!
