Meet the Community #1 : Hyruama

I discovered Altered through random Youtube videos. I was looking for information about other trading card games, and the algorithm suggested videos about Altered... I was intrigued and joined the official Discord pretty quickly in August 2023.

I got completely hooked on the game as soon as Print & Play became available in November, which allowed me to try it out. I think there are a lot of things that made me love it: the gameplay with a different way of playing (two expeditions, a reserve zone, the fleeting characters), the central track and the counters that have to meet (no life points), the art direction, the lore that was written for the game and so on. Add to this all the innovations brought by the digital collection, and you've got a lot of reasons to dive into this game!

Very early on, I had the idea of making a few videos to post on Youtube so that people who were discovering Altered at the time (late 2023) could get some information about the game, the factions, the lore, the decks,... At the time, there weren't many of them. I'm now up to a hundred videos on Altered, and they're very varied (Filmed games, Kickstarter follow-up, rules explanations, etc.).

I've also done a few readings of lore articles, available as podcasts, which I've set to music and sound effects to share the story of the game in a different way. People have given me a lot of very positive feedback, and I'm very happy about it.

I'm really happy to be part of this community, people are happy to live this new adventure, and we learn and play the game together as we discover it. The ambience is very pleasant.

My favorite faction is Ordis (but I like them all!), I like the order and group spirit that emanates from it, and the idea of dedicating one's life to protecting the population.

As for my favorite card, it's hard to choose because there are so many... But I'm going to say the Spindle Harvesters! For one thing, they're SO cute (I use it as a wallpaper on my phone), and for another, they're an inexpensive card with the advantage of staying in play. In its rare version, the resupply capacity is also very useful!

I'm looking forward to receiving my first cards! And I'm excited about opening my first unique cards, playing my first games in stores, my first tournaments... It's something I've never done before, and I can't wait to find out. But what I hope most of all is that Altered will appeal to as many people as possible, that it will grow, that communities will be created and that people will meet and have fun around the game and its fantastic universe. Long live Altered!
