Tell us your story with "altered". How did you discover the game and why did it appeal to you?

It all started in October 2023 during a tournament for another TCG at the local board game bar. The bar staff mentioned having participated in tests for a very old version, which piqued my curiosity. At that time, I only knew the overall concept with unique cards and the QR code system. Like everyone else, my first thought was "why not put the QR code on the back of the card?" And that's how I started to research the game and joined the official discord.

However, it was truly when the print-and-play and rules were released that I fell in love with the game. Dynamic and modern gameplay, restrictive but intelligent deckbuilding that offers numerous challenges, and a game that exudes the desire to include as many people as possible.

From gameplay to deckbuilding, through the economic model and the digital management system, everything is done so that everyone can easily join the adventure at their own pace.

And finally, the digital ownership offers a range of possibilities that continue to surprise me as I understand its subtleties.

What have you done in the community?

My main contribution is advocating for the return of memory instead of reserve (this is a private joke). More seriously, with the growing excitement of the game and the sensational arrival of the Kickstarter, it became evident that the small Francophone lounge on Discord was no longer enough. So I decided to create an unofficial French-speaking Discord to structure discussions and facilitate the work of poor Lokinox.

Since then, the Discord has over 1200 members as I write these lines, and we were able to organize our first friendly tournament with Mxmdn and JoliRougeGorge with 126 participants!

Finally, I became a moderator of the Official Discord to support our favorite CM in his heavy task. I already read all the messages almost live on Discord, so it might as well be productive! And then it's a small honor to be able to participate in the beautiful inclusive and caring atmosphere that the community offers.

What's your favorite card and faction? Why?

It wasn't difficult to choose. I like original game plans that break the rules and use different resources from others. So when I discovered the Yzmir faction, it was love at first sight. I want to manipulate timing and turn order rules? Akesha and Taru are here for that! I want to play with a lot of spells? Afanas and Senka will be perfect! I want to use my characters as a resource by sacrificing them? Lindiwe and Maw will take care of that.

For my favorite card, it's without hesitation The Lady of the Lake. A beautiful illustration whether it's common, rare, or unique, and a simple, elegant effect that supports all Yzmir heroes. A card that will be in all my decks!

What are you looking forward to in the future of the game?

I'm eagerly awaiting organized play. Starting the first tournaments in stores as well as international events. Everything seems to be heading in the right direction, and I'm excited to participate. If Equinox manages to achieve their ambitions, they could become a true staple of the TCG world.
