Tell us your "Altered" story? How did you discover the game and why do you like it?

I discovered the game thanks to a video of “La Taberna de Dam” and I joined the Discord channel at the beginning of December. I remember there being so little information online at the time that I wanted to learn more about Altered by joining the community.

What got my eye initially was the print on demand service. I personally think that it gives a lot of power and flexibility to players, as well as allowing a low entrance price to the game for your friends while keeping the original high quality.

What engaged me into Altered however was that I could already play a match thanks to the print and play, so I tried some matches with my girlfriend and we loved it!

What have you done in the community?

Besides a few interventions on Discord and backing the project a few minutes after it started (Lokinox put us under a hell of anticipation throughout January), I made a deck building service.

While we wait for the official release of Altered’s app, I thought that I could create a service to share the decks the players built to play on BGA and ExAltered. It also displays deck stats that I thought could prove a bit useful for more competitive players.

What is your favourite card and faction? Why?

I’m an engineer, and I chose Axiom initially as I was attracted to their usage of permanent effects. However, I found myself enjoying the Lyra faction with Nevenka & Blotch way more than I anticipated.

I love roguelike games and trying to make the best decisions with the odds I’m dealt with, I like taking risks and getting unexpected results; whilst trying to put the odds in my favor. It’s obvious why I have a great time with the Lyra faction!

I really like “Ouroboros Trickster”, the rare “Tanuki” and Lyra’s “Kadigiran Mage-Dancer”. But obviously, my favorite card is “The Ouroboros, Lyra Bastion”. I also like rolling with advantage in DnD.

What are you looking forward to in the future of the game?

What I look forward to the most is receiving my Kickstarter pledge and starting opening boosters!

After that, I’m really impatient to play 2v2 games with my foiled Nevenka deck. I just hope my partner enjoys as much as I do risking the last movement to the result of dice!
