Meet the Community #23 : Cohlrabi

My story on how I got started with Altered is a story as old as time… lost my job and the job market was really harsh so I needed a way to make money until obtaining another full time job. A friend recommended a company that hires for game demos so I reached out, and the first game was.. Altered! Equinox treated their demo staff really well and it left a lasting impression quickly. Outside of teaching people to play the game, I also started to fall deeper and deeper into the amazing art, concepts, and the best faction around… Muna.

The better question is… what haven’t I done? Just kidding, there is a lot that I haven’t. I am/was the demo rep for DFW Texas and started work early getting stores interested in hosting learn to plays and supporting the game. From there I kept the ball rolling by joining the team at Gen Con to teach quick demos in the Altered booth, and most recently was able to judge the Hero’s Journey events at PAX Unplugged. I cannot get enough Altered just by teaching others so I helped create and grow the Texas community server which is now Altered Corner. We have a podcast, website to track local events, a weekly tournament called ACE, and streamed coverage. Next stop…. Altered Broadway show?

My favorite faction has got to be Ord… MUNA of course. One of my favorite cards is actually Tiny Jinn because of how great the interaction is with Teija and providing mana ramp easily. I am a huge fan of the forest and plants theme within the faction and it will forever be my number 1.

More people, more events, more cards, more time spent annoying the discord with sarcasm. The community is amazing and each new person joining is just another lil leaf growing on the great Altered tree.
