We are happy to finally open Phase 2 of the Marketplace and POD beta and hope to offer you a smoother and more responsive experience with this new version of our services.
As communicated in our previous update, many of our improvements have focused on an aspect of the process that is not immediately visible—namely, the management of transactions, fees, and taxes.
However, this step is essential for the successful launch of our services. If our tests are conclusive, we will be able to announce a release date for the Marketplace and POD!
Everything you need to know about Phase 2
The Marketplace and Print-on-Demand beta reopens tomorrow, at 10 AM CET. We do not yet have a closing date to share, as it will depend on how this second phase progresses.
The goal of Phase 2 remains to test and collect your feedback specifically on the Marketplace and Print-on-Demand services. For this particular test, we primarily want to focus on ensuring the proper functioning of the services: verifying that payments go through smoothly, that taxes are correctly applied, and that you help us detect any possible bugs. The interface’s ergonomics and ease of use are a secondary focus at this stage.
With all this information, we should be able to provide a more precise estimate of our services' final release date.
A Phase 2 with alternating opening and closing periods for better responsiveness
As in Phase 1, we will be adding users in successive waves. However, this time, to better respond to your feedback and ensure that services work correctly throughout the process, we will only open access for definite periods of time (24 hours, 48 hours, 72 hours for example) before restricting it again. These closure days will be dedicated to processing your tickets, analyzing transactions, and fixing any identified bugs.
Once this review phase is complete, we will reopen access to more users. We will continue this process until we reach the load test phase, where we will test our servers' endurance. For this final stage, all beta registrants waiting for access will receive an email allowing them to discover the services.
You will be notified via email at each step as soon as you are selected for Phase 2. We also encourage you to check our social media regularly to stay updated on the beta’s progress.
A gradual integration of users
Please note that the first week of the beta will be open to a very limited number of users to quickly fix any functionality that may present a problem. Don’t worry if you haven’t received an email after a few days—everyone who signed up will eventually get to participate!
Implementation of the new fee system
We are updating our fee system to make it simpler and more intuitive than before. With this new system:
-
Wallet top-up and withdrawal fees are now free.
-
A 5% transaction fee will be deducted from the seller's earnings.
If you are buying cards, this change does not affect you. However, if you are selling a card, Equinox will deduct 5% of the total transaction amount.
You can find these changes in the Terms of Use and Sales, which will be sent with the email notifying you of beta access.
Print your promo and alt-art cards!
A new feature is available in Phase 2: you will now be able to sell, buy, and order Print-on-Demand versions of the promo and alternate-art cards you have unlocked in your collection!
Lifting of the Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA)
We are also very pleased to announce that with Phase 2 of the beta, we are lifting the confidentiality requirement from the NDA! You will now be able to discuss your experience with the services, ask questions, and share screenshots and videos.
List of eligible countries
Phase 2 of the beta remains accessible only to player accounts, and the list of eligible countries remains the same:
Australia, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, Croatia, Cyprus, Czechia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, New Zealand, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, United-Kingdom, United-States.
For users who participated in Phase 1
If you previously participated in Phase 1 of the beta, your account and Wallet will remain as you left them when the first phase closed. However, cards you listed for sale on the Marketplace have been removed and will need to be re-listed if you wish to sell them again.
Known bugs and solutions
Print-on-Demand issues
During the first beta phase, several of you received defective Print-on-Demand orders. We are currently working on refunding everyone affected. The amount of your POD order will be credited back to your Wallet, ready to be used on the Marketplace or for a new Print-on-Demand order.
ATTENTION
- Before placing a POD order, go to your profile and verify that your personal information and addresses are filled in correctly.
Thank you for your participation!
Your feedback is extremely valuable to us, and we carefully review each one. However, our customer support team is not yet able to respond to every message unless it concerns critical or blocking issues.
We also receive many messages of support, which are regularly shared with the entire team—thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
We look forward to discussing this with you and hope to make this second testing phase a fun and engaging community experience!
