Altered’s official release is fast approaching and although many of you have already been opening boosters and playing their first games, we can’t wait for the game to finally be available to all and for people to get together in their local game stores.

To celebrate Altered’s release, stores will be able to organize Launch Events all weekend long between Friday 13th and Sunday 15th.

Whether you are a new player or already have been playing for the past few months, Launch Events are a great way for every one of you to finally meet and enjoy Altered together. Celebrate in your Local Game Stores and grow your Altered community!

During Launch Events players will be able to choose between two different Formats :

• Starter Deck + 3 Boosters
• Sealed

We recommend both formats use 4 rounds, best-of-one with a 30 minute deckbuilding time limit and a 30 minutes round limit.

Players receive 1 Starter Deck + 3 Retail Booster Packs. Players will open one Starter Deck and improve it with the addition of the 3 packs to create a new deck.

• Minimum deck size is 40 cards Hero included, with players able to play cards from 3 different factions.
• Players may use any cards they open in their 3 Booster Packs to modify their Starter Deck.
• Heroes opened in the 3 Booster Packs may be used instead of the Starter Deck Hero as long as it is within one of the 3 factions they have selected for their deck.
• Players may make modifications to their deck between rounds.

We advise you to use this format if you want to offer a more beginner-friendly experience.

Players receive 7 Retail boosters. This limited format offers a very fun experience for players that have already played Altered and already know the set.

For this format, remember that players or yourself will need to provide the Adventure Cards, since they are not present in the boosters.

This format is Sealed Deck, and uses Sealed Deck construction rules.

September 13th also marks the start of Altered’s Organized Play for Season 1 and player progression on their Adventure Pass which Launch Events are a part of.

• Any event organized through the Altered event manager should reward participating players with 1 additional level on their Adventure Pass, no matter their result.
• Since the release of the event manager is planned for September 13th, however, at the same time as the first events will happen, it might take some time for stores to start using it. For this reason, we’ve decided to offer all players 2 levels on the Adventure Pass. Check out our Updates on our Digital Roadmap - August article to learn more about this.
