Caer Eidos

Arkaster

Known as the "City of Alabaster" or simply the "First City," Arkaster is the capital of Asgartha and the chief town of Caer Eidos. The metropolis itself, nestled between the peninsulas and islands of Sekent, Kemeri, Kuna, and Nisan, has more than 695,000 inhabitants, nearly a quarter of the entire Asgarthan population.

Arkaster's topography is divided between the Terraferma sites (which include the historic districts of Tesh Kanat, Kuth Kanat, Reykur, Vejaskira, Sonowen, and Jusaka, as well as the new district of Renkairi) and the lake districts built on stilts, the Permukaan (which encompass the districts of Arsenal, Gwyntewyn, Kladiver, Huskr, Porto Novo, Sjena, Felsenwel, Fosa, Kabatas, and Nafitera). The Karuna district is also entirely considered a lake district, even though it is partially built on a small rocky islet.

Two new districts - Usku and Koru - are officially under construction on the sea arm located between the peninsulas of Kuna and Nisan, but many years will still be needed before they can be inhabited by the metropolitan population. It should also be noted that Haven, despite its relative distance, is also considered a district of Arkaster.

The city has 695,648 inhabitants according to the latest census of 380 AC: 268,873 on the heights of the Terraferma and 426,775 on the Permukaan and other small islands of the lagoon.

Verbera

As the interface between the Provinces and Arkaster, Verbera is a strategic city. Its warehouses accommodate goods both coming from the capital and those being transported there (excluding Kelon). It is an industrial city and a commercial port, more functional than aesthetically pleasing. Verbera is famous for being the landing site of Arkaster's fleet during the Severance War, where they opposed the armies of the regional Governors. Although located on the Anthea peninsula, Verbera is directly administered by Caer Eidos, and thus falls under Arkaster's jurisdiction.

Caer Kettria

Kestia

Chief town of Caer Kettria, Kestia is protected from any intrusion by the labyrinthine network formed by its islands and countless coves. Kestia is built within a dormant crater, surrounded by magnificent and roaring waterfalls. However, the city has long since overflowed the crater, spilling down a steep slope toward the sea below. It is called the “Little Arkaster” because its topography resembles that of the capital, albeit on a smaller scale. Its inhabitants live off the resources of both the mountain and the sea, and they are content with their geographical isolation, far from the turmoil of more bustling places.

Amorgand

Amorgand was built on the ruins of the old Lyra Crossroads, which was destroyed during the rebellion of Amahle Kahlu. Rumor has it that Amorgand is the capital of artists and philosophers. Perpetually bathed in a bluish light, Amorgand is a serene and melancholic city. It was built on a lake, amidst large water lilies and lotus flowers in a thousand shades of blue. Half of the dwellings are barges and ships, and each day, thousands of boats and junks navigate the city's canals. Amorgand is known for its trade in fabrics and silk, as well as its factories producing vibrant blue dyes.

Uja

Uja is one of the main agricultural hubs of Asgartha. It is where the cereal productions of the Arami Lowlands are poured each day before being transported to the rest of the Peninsula via the Transasgarthan route. Uja is a white city with turquoise roofs and domes. It hosts numerous silos for storing grains from the plains. It is also a seaside resort town, attracting tourists mainly from the capital who come to enjoy its beaches of pebbles or white sand, as well as its renowned cuisine.

Caer Arcolano

Avesta

Avesta, much like Uja, is an agricultural hub. However, instead of specializing in wheat or barley cultivation, Avesta's wealth comes from its vegetable crops and rice cultivation. Nevertheless, Avesta is threatened by the Fagn, which grows larger each year. Many farmers now prefer to send their produce directly to Verbera rather than braving these strange marshes. Avesta is known as the location where the junction of the Transasgarthan railway occurred. It is also for the Muna a gateway to Kirighai during their pilgrimages within the Katkera and the Silg.

Sojourn

Twin city to Svarograd on the peninsula of Anthea, Sojourn was once an impregnable fortress that ensured the safety of the delta before the Covenant was ratified. It still regulates delta traffic today, especially the narrow fjord that connects the Biela to the Muir Concordia. During the construction of the Transasgarthan railway, Kaja ruun-Aksoy, then Basilissa, established herself in this place to personally oversee, despite the controversy of her self-imposed exile, the construction of the bridge connecting Anthea to Enosha. The city, then a simple enclave, paid tribute to her extended stay by taking the name of Sojourn.

Caecaster

This troglodyte city, chief town of the Province of Caer Arcolano, was erected within and beneath a mesa, entirely made of red rocks and pink marble. Despite the harshness of the desert, the buried city benefits from a welcome coolness, as its inhabitants have opened a gigantic well into the depths of the earth. Caecaster is known to be the nerve center of Arcolano Milk production, a substance that Factions buy at a high price for its psycho-catalytic properties. Caecaster serves as an ideal outpost for the exploration of the Hypogea, a strange underground world that is far from having revealed all its secrets.

Seki

This oasis city, nestled in a coastal canyon, contrasts with the red desert of Sarkans with its gleaming white walls and buildings. Protected from the heat and sandstorms, it also houses an important port that connects Seki to other cities of the Protectorate. Its wealth comes from fishing in the fish-rich and tranquil waters of the Biela. Seki is also known as the city of Historians. Many artifacts and remnants of the Old World are sent there to be analyzed. It houses a thousand wonders, safely tucked away in its crypts. It is also known as the City of Cats, and all residents collectively leave water and food for them on their doorstep.
