Altered.gg is now available as an APP, in “BETA”

The ALTERED APP (BETA)

In parallel with the delivery of your Kickstarter orders, we are making the ALTERED app available to you starting today and new services will be made accessible:

  • Scan your cards in bulk
  • Friendlist
  • Direct trading/giveaway of cards (person to person)
  • Create your store account

As a reminder, you can always log in to your account directly from www.altered.gg or even from your phone using your browser. The app version exists only to provide access to services that cannot be offered in any other form, such as the bulk scanning service.

About the BETA

Please not that the APP is not yet fully functional and will most likely encounter bugs & errors in the first days/weeks of its release. It's an important moment for us that we start getting a real test based on real use cases, and there are no better testers than our own community.

How to download the application?

  • The application is not yet available on Google Play Store and we will let you know as soon as it is. In the meantime, you can download it directly (APK). It’s exactly the same as if you would download it from the store, just not hosted on the store.

How to scan your cards in bulk? (only with the app)

In this beta version, three access paths are available to you and you can scan up to 150 cards at once

Tip: the APP shows you the number of cards currently scanned in the top right hand corner. We strongly advise you to scan your boosters 1 by 1 and check this top right hand corner number to see if it matches the number of cards within your booster. This way, if you missed one card, you’ll quickly notice it.

Optimal Conditions for Scanning

To facilitate the app's recognition of your cards, we recommend the following:

  • Good lighting (avoid dim light)
  • Varying scanning distances (different phones behave differently)
  • Sometimes waiting 1 to 2 seconds for the focus to adjust, if necessary

What if a card does not scan? (It could happen with some phones)

In case it seems like a card is harder than other to scan:

  • Try zooming in and out with your phone
  • Try scanning the card directly with your cam instead of the app
  • Last resort, you can download any free scan app from your store and try again.

How to use the friendlist?

Homepage => My Profile => Handle my friends => Add a friend (type his ID)

  • The ID is found in “My Profile”

How to create your digital binder for trading?

To trade in Altered you have to choose which cards you want to make available in your digital binder for others to see and make offers.

Homepage => My Collection (or Cards button at the bottom of the UI) => Select a card => Access details => Trade list (or Give) => Validate

  • Repeat this for every card you want to add to your trading binder.

How to directly trade or give your cards?

If you are interested in someone’s cards, you’ll check their digital binder and select what you are interested in and offer them to start a trade. They’ll then be able to check your binder and make their offer in return if they want. Once both offers are set, both people are asked to validate, or not, this deal.

How to create your store account?

Store accounts are only opened to brick and mortar stores that can justify they are real stores. Online stores (which would not have a brick and mortar store), associations, gaming bars etc. will not be granted store accounts. If you are not eligible to a store account but want to do “organised play” for Altered, it’s suggested that you partner with a store who has an account. Our policy might evolve in the future as we could consider opening part of the store accounts services to other types of organisations, but that’s not planned for 2024.

Current store accounts will not grant you to any extra services for now. Store accounts related services should start opening closer to the official release of the game.

If you feel like you are eligible and want to create a store account, follow these steps:

  • Then you’ll be asked to fill in all details regarding your business and in particular the official info allowing us to confirm you are indeed a brick and mortar store.
  • The validation process might take a little while in the first weeks and we will do our best to speed up the process before the OP season 1 starts. (September 13th)

Can I create my store account with the same email I have used for my player account?

No

I want to create my store account with an email I used for my player account, how can I do that?

In your player account profile you can change the associated email address, which will make it available for another account creation.

About stores willing to log more than one employee at a time

  • The ability to give “admin rights” to more accounts than one is not yet available and is planned for september.
  • However, it’s possible to log the same store account on many different devices. This temporary solution could help stores who would need to have multiple people working at the same time.

About bulk actions within your collections

We know how convenient bulk actions are to stores and collectors who own and manipulate a huge number of cards. It’s something we very much want to add but that will take some more time to arrive. In brief:

  • Bulk actions are still in development and are planned for S1 2025.
