Altered will be holding events and tournaments all weekend long, so stop by our booth (37A in the TCG Zone, Gaming Hall - D) and enjoy brand new ways to play Altered. We’ll have staff on hand from 9AM until 9PM, Friday and Saturday, and from 9AM to 5PM Sunday to help you find the way you want to play!

Join a quick 8 player constructed event to earn some Beyond the Gates booster packs, try your hand at the Booster Draft format, race through the Tumult with one of our special guests, or embark on the Hero’s Journey, with a chance to earn oversized Altered cards from our upcoming Trial by Frost expansion–never before seen!

• Boss Battle: Face off against Lokinox & Yoh, the Lyra Boss! With only 4 Adventure cards to travel through and a surprising Boss ability to face off against, discover this refreshing game experience!

• Influencer Experience: The imaginary world is merging with our own once more! Play a match against Heroes and Characters from the Altered universe come to life. Special rewards in victory or defeat!

• Lokinox Nights: A new, fun way to explore the Tumult! Beware, exploring may be more volatile than you’re used to!

Come and Learn to Play Altered TCG! Dive into the game’s colorful and dreamlike universe and discover the six available factions. Play as a Hero and lead your expeditions from region to region, to explore the entire map! During the event, a guide will walk you through the game rules and help you choose one or more decks to try.

Each participant is rewarded with an exclusive promotional Hero card at the end of the session!

No materials are needed for this event. Game knowledge is not required.

Altered Learn to Play will begin at 10AM and end at 8PM each day. No registration needed. Each Learn to Play session takes approximately 30 minutes to complete.

Want to test your skill in Altered and win some Beyond the Gates booster packs? Play in the Standard Challenge! Players will compete in 3 rounds for prizes using their own constructed decks! Prizes will be awarded based on record.

Event registration will happen on-site at PAX Unplugged.

Players will each receive 4 packs of the Core set "Beyond the Gates" and will draft in a pod of 8. Players will keep all cards they draft. Prizes awarded to winner and finalist.

Players will compete over 6 rounds of Swiss-based competition, before moving to a single elimination bracket for the Top 8 competitors. Prizes will be awarded based on record.

Preregistration for this event will launch closer to December 1st.

Event Structure

All players are paired for 6 rounds of Swiss play. Swiss rounds are Best of 1 with a 30min time limit. Pairings based on match points.

• Round win: 3 match points

• Round loss: 0 match points

• Round draw: 1 match point

After completion of round 6, the top 8 players based on record and tiebreakers will play in a single elimination bracket. Top 8 rounds are Best of 3.

Players will need a constructed deck following Altered Standard rules. Game knowledge/experience required.

Maximum number of players: 48

Entry: $30

• 1st Place: Never before seen Trial by Frost Oversized card, exclusive PAX U 2024 Altered playmat, + 36 packs

• 2nd Place: Exclusive PAX U 2024 Altered playmat + 24 packs
