Attending Altered Organized Play event in Season 2 provide opportunities to claim exclusive rewards, starting with pre-releases for Trial by Frost. Every official event is part of the Altered Organized Play Program and advances you on the Adventure Pass and might let you claim some Promo boosters.

Expeditions are the most popular Altered events at your local game store. Stores organize weekly events, sometimes several times in a week where you can try your hand at Constructed (where you need to come with a deck) or Limited (where you’ll be provided with booster packs to build your deck) game formats.

Attending an Expedition event rewards you with 1 level on your Adventure Pass, provided you’ve activated it (more on Adventure Pass activation below), and your store can also reward you with Promo boosters.

For Season 2, we’re updating the Promo boosters contents with new exciting and exclusive cards.

You can still get Unique cards (all of them from Trial by Frost with returning and brand new mechanics) and Foilers, but now you can also get exclusive alt arts Characters that are featured in the story. There are 6 of them, available in Common, Rare and Rare-F (out of faction).

The Adventure Pass is a fun way to get rewards for attending any official Altered event, no matter your results. Play Altered at your local game store, get an additional level on your Adventure Pass and unlock exclusive rewards! So, how does that work?

At the beginning of the season (January 24 for Season 2), remember to activate your Adventure Pass on your Altered account (you can find it under www.altered.gg/profile/adventure-pass if you are connected). When activating your pass, you’ll be presented with a choice between the 6 different factions. Choose carefully the faction that you want to represent because some rewards are exclusive to your faction and it might also have an impact on competitive Organized Play rewards later this season!

Here are the contents for the Season 2 Adventure Pass and what you can unlock with each level.

For this season, the exclusive Adventure Pass alt arts rewards feature the Icebound Landmarks, with one to unlock in its different rarities for each faction.

To progress on your Adventure Pass, register to official Altered events in your local game store, and remember to pre-register to events through the Altered website or application so your store can link your account to their own registrations and award you your level.

Each event rewards you with 1 additional level, with a maximum of 15 levels, at which point you’ll have completed your Adventure Pass. There is currently no possibility to switch factions during the Season and you cannot start over in another faction when you've completed your Adventure Pass so choose carefully!

Levels are not automatically added after the event, your store first has to validate your registration to make sure you did attend the event, and then close the event. It might sometimes take a few days, especially during weekends so do not hesitate to reach out to your store if you think you’re missing a level!

Season 2 starts on January 24 with the pre-releases for Trial by Frost. Any Altered event you attend after January 24 will count toward your progression on the Season 2 Adventure Pass so remember to activate it on January 24 if you plan on attending pre-releases!

As such, Season 1 will end on January 23 at midnight where it will no longer be possible to create Season 1 events. Stores will have the following week to close and validate player registration for these last events, and on January 31, you will unlock the rewards you earned through your Adventure Pass for Season 1.
